INSERT TRUCK SYNOPSIS
Began 1940/41 for all trucks operated in Common or Contract carriage,
and trucks in Private carriage over 8,000 lbs. Common and Contract
carriers under 8,000 lbs. were issued a separate For Hire Truck
series starting 1978. Annual plates 1940/41 - 51/52, 1953-71,
two-year bases 1972-93, new base 1994-99. Non-reflective 1967-93.
Weight codes:
1946/47 - 77 - A to X (no I,O,P,Q,U,W). X/A-X/F added by 1959.
1978-96 - D/A to T/A (no I,M,O). X/A added by 1993, M/A by 1996.

Horizontal tabs 1940/41 - 49/50, vertical tabs 1950/51 - 61/62,
stickers 1963-96. 1942/43 tabs issued only for Trailers; trucks
issued windshield stickers. Each type different color 1940/41 -
42/43, all types same color within any given quarter 1943/44-on.
Quarter number is suffix on horizontal tabs, prefix on vertical.
Year date added 1968. Monthly stickers with year date issued to
logging trucks, and later, other products, 1965-77 (verify 1964).
1-4 = Quarter number - 1940/41 - 61/62: SEP, DEC, MAR, JUN.
1963-83: MAR, JUN, SEP, DEC.
